Claudia Alfonso Valenzuela is a member of Culturalia México, an NGO working with indigenous groups in the development of ecotourism alternatives that promote the conservation of natural and cultural heritage. Claudia Alfonso is a tourism professional with post grade studies in “Rural Development Planning” and “Environmental Management”. Her 10 years experience has been in the eco-tourism field. Working for international NGOs and the Commission for Protected Areas of the Mexican government (CONANP) she had the opportunity to work together with the Lacandon group, one of the most representative indigenous groups of the Chiapas State. She has also contributed to the work done by choles, tzeltales, and more recently, with Culturalia, she has worked in the projects developed at Santa Martha and Las Nubes.
