Beverley O’Neil is a citizen of the Ktunaxa First Nation, is an Indigenous tourism consultant owning two companies : O’Neil Marketing & Consulting, and Numa Communications Ltd. She is a free-lance writer and aspiring author. Prior to starting her own businesses, O’Neil worked as the Director of Community Economic Development for the Ktunaxa/Kinbasket Tribal Council.
For more than a decade she has worked in First Nation/Aboriginal community economic development focusing on tourism. She’s worked to bridge the gap between First Nations / Aboriginal people and mainstream Canadian society.
Beverley has been a columnist in Kahtou Newspaper for more than a decade and a featured writer in other publications such as Jewish Outlook Magazine and Home Business Report. She wrote and designed the Aboriginal Tourism Checklist for Success : How to Create a Successful Aboriginal Cultural Tourism Product, as well as developed other guides, programs reports and studies on Aboriginal cultural tourism, markets, partnerships and strategic development.
