Bruce Beehler is an ornithologist and tropical ecologist who has been a student of New Guinea for thirty years. He currently serves as Vice President for the Melanesia Program for Conservation International, based in Washington, DC, USA. Beehler is author of A Naturalist in New Guinea and co-author of Birds of New Guinea and The Birds of Paradise. He visits New Guinea twice a year, and loves to spend time at the Kumul Lodge, bird-watching and hiking.
