Alice Crabtree
Alice Crabtree is The International Ecotourism Society’s (TIES) Coordinator in the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Australia, she has a particular focus on certification as well as education and training. Over the last 15 years Alice has provided significant contributions to the growth and development of ecotourism in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region. She was a founding member of the Ecotourism Association of Australia in 1991, and a key player in the development of the world’s first ecotourism-specific certification program, the Australian National Ecotourism Accreditation Program (NEAP). Alice holds a Ph.D. as an aquatic ecologist, and has written and taught extensively on interpretation, ecotourism, guiding, as well as certification and accreditation issues.
