Wolfgang Strasdas
Wolfgang Strasdas, born in 1957 and an avid traveller since the early days of “Interrail” is a professor at the Eberswalde University of Applied Sciences near Berlin, the German capital. He is the head lecturer of an internationally accredited Master’s course called “Sustainable Tourism Management” (M.A.), the only of its kind in Germany (www.fh-eberswalde.de/tour).
For many years Mr. Strasdas has also worked as an environmental planner, tourism consultant and trainer. His assignments have taken him to Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia where he usually advises nature conservation projects and rural communities on how to develop tourism both in sustainable way and as a successful business.
His work with the Toledo Ecotourism Association was part of his doctoral thesis which he conducted in the late 1990’s in Mexico and Belize. In 2002/03 he co-authored the “Training Manual for Community-based Tourism” on behalf if InWEnt (Capacity Building International, Germany). Contact. wstrasdas@fh-eberswalde.de
