Gail Y. B. Lash, Ph.D. is an Ecotourism Planner and Community Development Consultant for Ursa International, a design and planning firm in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Gail has worked with community-based ecotourism efforts, such as guide training, women’s craft groups, human capacity assessments and marketability of attractions, in Indonesia, Ecuador, Belize, Madagascar, and the United States. Since 1991, Gail has been interested and involved in the Community Baboon Sanctuary, as she completed a long-range study of the CBS management and the distribution of revenue and other benefits to pledged landowners and residents from the CBS. Gail is also Founder of Tourism For Peace (TFP), teaching peace principles to both hosts and guests worldwide, and promoting the building of Peace Paths linking communities around the world. Gail’s educational background is in Zoology from Duke University ; Environmental Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology ; and in Forest Resource Economics and Policy from the University of Georgia.
