Nanda Ritsma is a SNV Bhutan Tourism Product Development Advisor attached to the Department of Tourism of the Royal Government of Bhutan) and together with a team of the SNV (Netherlands Development Organisation) Bhutan advisors, we support ABTO, DoT and the Nature Conservation Division with the implementation of this pilot project on community based tourism. This project is the first of its kind in Bhutan.
SNV Netherlands Development Organisation supports local organisations in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with the aim to alleviate poverty. Pro-poor sustainable tourism is one of the specialisation of SNV. With the support of SNV, local organisations are able to improve the sustainable development of the tourism sector in their country in a way that local communities benefit more.
