Guido Van Es
My name is Guido van Es, I am a Dutch tourism consultant specialized in sustainable, community-based tourism development. I have been working at The Mountain Institute since January 2002, concentrating on the tourism projects in Humacchuco and Vicos. I am now the coordinator of Yachaqui Wayi as well, for the first year and a half. During this period of time, I will work together with two selected trainees, members from the local tourism projects, who will run the Yachaqui Wayi centre when I leave.
The Mountain Institute (www.mountain.org) is an NGO working in the Huaraz area since 1995, and in tourism development since 2000. It’s an international non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, community development, and cultural preservation in the Andes, Appalachian, Himalayan, and other mountain ranges of the world.
Crooked Trails (www.crookedtrails.com) is a non-profit, community-based travel organization helping people broaden their understanding of the planet and its diverse cultures through education, community development and responsible travel.
Je m’appelle Guido van Es. Consultant hollandais spécialisé dans le développement durable du tourisme communautaire, je travaille avec le Moutain Institute depuis janvier 2002. Je me consacre surtout aux projets de Humacchuco et de Vicos. Je suis maintenant le coordonnateur du centre Yachaqui Wayi pour un an et demi, période durant laquelle je travaillerai avec deux stagiaires, membres des projets de tourisme local, qui géreront le centre à mon départ.
Le Mountain Institute (www.mountain.org) est une ONG implantée dans la région de Huaraz depuis 1995, qui développe le tourisme communautaire depuis 2000. C’est une organisation à but non-lucratif qui se consacre au développement communautaire, à la conservation de la nature et à la préservation de la culture dans les Andes, les Appalaches, l’Himalaya, entre autres régions montagneuses du monde.
