Niklas Labba has grown up as a traditional reindeer herder and is
today combining reindeer herding with an employment as the leader of Gáisi Sámi Language Centre in Tromsø Norway.
He has been involved in several projects monitoring the advent of climate change, and has represented both the Swedish and Norwegian government in expert groups connected to arctic council the and CBD/UN bodies.
Labba has worked as a researcher at the Nordic Sámi Institute and Tromsø University, with the main focus on reindeer herding economy and traditional knowledge.
