Ruboni community tourism project increases the involvement of the locals in the tourism and environment conservation around the Rwenzori through providing a community experience and training. Rwenzori mountains national park is a world heritage site and the highest block mountain in Africa with its highest Peak at 5109m ASL. The experience of climbing the Rwenzori is a unique one done in a minimum of seven days.
This project is located at the gate way in Mubuku valley to cater for the visitors on their way to or from the mountains, organizing short nature walks in the forest adjacent to the park, local cultural dances, handicrafts, visiting the traditional healers, blacksmith and story teller, hygienic restaurant and accommodation
This community is the Eden of Uganda. Visitors will get a chance of enjoying the environment of the Rwenzori Mountains in a shorter time and budget. Viewing the snows and mountain ranges, local people, traditional handicrafts, the unique rain forest that shares the beauty of park while walking on its edges. Some times these forests have chimpanzees in them occasionally as a unique attraction in the Rwenzoris. The itinerary of the Rwenzoris and other parts of the village ranging from one to many days will be provided on request.
