ATA is an industry organisation formed by Indigenous tourism operators. It is the peak body representing Indigenous tourism in Australia and evolved as a recommendation of the Australian National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tourism Industry Strategy. The Board of Directors is drawn from every state and territory with the administrative office based in Melbourne.
ATA provides industry-focussed Indigenous representation and policy advice to government and industry and is a central point of contact for inquiries on Indigenous tourism matters. ATA is committed to raising the level of industry professionalism, enhancing economic sustainability and employment opportunities and protecting the cultural property rights of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders within the tourism industry.
ATA is committed to ensuring that Aboriginal tourism experiences are enriched by Aboriginal values. The organisation and associated operators aim to share with you their love for their country, its sacred meaning, its past and its present.
